Position Summary: The Associate Brand Manager, Global Marketing requires an understanding of the marketing environment related specifically to the beauty/CPG business. In addition, the candidate should clearly understand the roles and responsibilities of the marketing department along with strategic knowledge of the business, the growth opportunities for the category globally, and the ways and means to achieve them. It is a great opportunity to learn Avon’s Global business in-depth and contribute to a growth and development of our iconic brand all over the world. Duties & Responsibilities: Specifically, the Associate Brand Manager assists in the global marketing activities and acts as a brand champion for the portfolio of brands within the Color Category at Avon. She/He has a track record of results, exhibiting strong influencing capabilities and deep understanding of the marketing environment at Avon. • Assists in developing the mission, objectives and 3-year strategy for the Global Color business and develops plans to achieve them • Assists in developing Brand Plans for select portfolio brands • Be savvy at financial and marketing analyses, assess category performance, and review/reports on financial status for total business focusing on key brands and segments • Manage brand equity of portfolio of products, establishing guardrails and expectations to manage regional implementation • Manages key brand NPD initiatives: drives the brand by working and guiding cross functional team (Product Development, Package design engineering, Design, Creative, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Finance) progress and tracks the development of all large innovation initiatives and ensure timely launch within cost/margin objectives • Assists the BM/SBM in analyzing the brand’s strengths and opportunities vs. category trends/key competitors and identifies growth areas • New Product Development – Proactively drive the cross functional team in all aspects of the development and delivery of product innovation • Concept – Work with SBM to develop compelling and unique concepts with proficiency leveraging consumer insights, understanding of gaps in market and portfolio • Creative –Support Senior Brand Manager in development of creative strategy for brochure and packaging (i.e. writing briefs, developing inputs, briefing Creative) and evaluating creative as well as recommending solutions • Develops an effective dialogue with the regional marketing groups to provide timely communication of product development process and ensures that all market needs are met in a cost effective and strategic manner Requirements: • Must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant brand management experience. Global experience a big plus. Experience must include strategy, brand building, new product development, launch activation as well as creative development and execution • Beauty experience a plus. Passion for the category • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and communication skills, excellent presentation skills • Should have project management skills with experience energizing, providing direction and leading a large, experienced cross-functional color team through the development and execution of multiple new product launches in a fast pace environment • MBA is preferred but not required • Must be an excellent communicator both verbally and in written presentations, managing projects, etc. • Be a team player with strong organizational and interpersonal skills Job number: 2468BR Category: Category Management Location: United States, NY, New York
